Pacolet Milliken Acquires Georgia Renewable Power Biomass Plants

Pacolet Milliken, LLC, a sustainability-focused family-owned investment firm headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina, has completed the full acquisition of Georgia Renewable Power, expanding its foothold in the biomass energy sector, the company announced Wednesday.
Georgia Renewable Power owns two biomass power plants located in northeast Georgia, including one facility in Franklin. The deal gives Pacolet Milliken 100% ownership of both assets, deepening a renewable energy platform the firm has been building in recent years.

Biomass power generation, which converts organic materials into electricity, has drawn increased interest from sustainability-oriented investors as utilities and corporations seek lower-carbon alternatives to fossil fuels. Pacolet Milliken's focus on family-led, long-term capital positions it among a growing cohort of private investors directing capital toward renewable infrastructure outside of traditional institutional channels.
The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The acquisition marks a notable geographic concentration in Georgia's renewable energy market, which has seen rising investment in clean power projects amid broader state-level energy diversification efforts.
